CELEBRATE FREEDOM!

In 2022, Brielle Liberation Festival will take place from 4 through 8 May and once again, the town will completely revolve around the end of WWII and young and old will take time to think about commemoration and liberation. 

Veterans and veteran organisations play a major role during the Liberation Festival and set up many activities, including a parade. Re-enactment camps are reconstructed - on the sides of both the German and the allied forces - and a field hospital. You take a step back in time. One of the highlights of the festival is the Mock Battle on 't Scharloo. You can visit the liberation market and enjoy the conviviality of Brielle's bars and restaurants. And of course, there is a programme of music events in the town centre. Both the Historisch Museum and Sint-Catharijnekerk are open.
