Big Band Festival

During the Jumbo Big Band Festival in Brielle, four big bands compete on stage on Brielle Markt for the Jerry Rooyen Big Band Prize. Each orchestra is given 50 minutes to play in the afternoon.

The prize, which was established in 2013, is intended to promote big band music in general and is awarded every year to the winning big band. The prize consists of a sum of money and a sculpture of arranger/composer/conductor Jerry van Rooyen. The jury, which changes every year, decides on the winner.

In the evening, there is the headline act: a concert by a prominent soloist together with a big band. Admission is free. Info: www.kunstencultuurbrielle.nl
